Welcome to Patchwork

I decided on the Crazy Quilt website background for my book, "Patchwork" which is a collection of some of my writings, because it is so much like true life. Life comes in bits and pieces - just like our Quilt.

The patches of fabric in soft blue and pink represent innocence of a baby. Then we have the vivid colors like bright red and green that remind us of happier times... Christmas and the birth of baby Jesus. Then we have the gray and beige these are the times nothing out of the ordinary happens, The ominous Block... is like the darkness of grief in our life. Dark Blue would be the melancholy periods that we sometimes go through. Purple the color of Kings. A symbol of reverence.

We also have swatches of small sweet daisies and perky Gingham's, reminding us of the gaiety of youth.

This poetry has all of these moods. The strand of thread is the bond that keeps our lives together.

Life is often unbalanced (crazy) but if I had a choice. I'd change the name to Wisdom Quilt. I feel this way... because as we reach a certain age we have experienced all these emotions and acquired patches of wisdom.

And most important of all... we are truly blessed when our Quilt is stitched by loving hands.
